The Louisville Academy of Music

The Louisville Academy of Music has had the same purpose for over fifty years. We train students of all ages to play or sing.

Whether the student hopes to work toward a professional career or to study music just for enjoyment, we welcome the opportunity to work with him or her.

Our teachers present student recitals frequently and encourage young instrumentalists and vocalists to participate in school orchestras and choirs. Advanced students are encouraged to enter competitions if they choose to do so.

Our staff believes that children who study music improve their ability to learn, teenagers who play or sing well increase their chances of attending the college of their choice and adults can add hours of pleasure to their lives.

Since the Academy opened it's doors in 1954, over 10,000 students have attended and many now teach or play in schools and orchestras all over the country and abroad.
